St Lucia and the UAE Sign a Visa Waiver

St Lucia and the United Arab Emirates signed a reciprocal visa-waiver agreement, recognising the close diplomatic and commercial ties between the two nations and creating practical mobility benefits for citizens of both.

The Government of Saint Lucia and the Government of the United Arab Emirates have signed a visa waiver agreement that will allow easier movement of citizens between the two countries.

The agreement which was signed on September 21st, 2017 will allow nationals of St Lucia holding official and diplomatic citizenships that are valid for a period of not less than 6 months to enjoy entry to the UAE for a maximum stay of 60 days without visa.

Nationals of the UAE holding diplomatic, special, ordinary and service citizenships that are valid for a period of not less than 6 months will enjoy entry to St Lucia for a maximum stay of 60 days without visa.

The agreement was signed by the Honourable Allen M. Chastanet, Prime Minister of Saint Lucia and Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al-Zeyoudi, Minister for Climate Change and Environment of the UAE, on the margins of the General Debate of the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly, in New York.

The exemption will take effect 30 days after the date of signing.

Citizens of St Lucia currently enjoy visa on arrival to more than a 100 countries including key business hubs such as the UK, Schengen Zone, Hong Kong and Singapore.
